St. Patrick’s Day 2018 in Madrid

St. Patrick’s Day, a day when people around the world wear green, is celebrated on March 17. That means lots of partying, beer, traditional Irish music, leprechauns and shamrocks.

Swing by the Plaza de Cibeles Fountain & Puerta Alcala as it illuminates green and makes Madrid part of the global commemoration of the St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations. These city icons are joining other international monuments such as The London Eye, Empire State Building, Table Mountain and Niagara Falls in Ireland’s “green” initiative to promote their country across the world.

Simply follow the leprechaun hats and you’ll find the party!

Later (or in between), we suggest going to Irish pubs to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Madrid, which is home to the largest Irish colony in Spain. All the pubs are certain to have the Guinness flowing and the fiddle playing. You can check out a complete list of Irish pubs here.

Start the week joining the fun at the James Joyce Pub in Madrid for the St. Patrick’s Week Party, starting with an open mic night on Monday 12th at 21.30h. There will be delicious Food Specials all week.

The Annual GAA St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun Day organized by the Irish embassy will take place on Sunday 18 March at Parque Deportivo Puerta de Hierro, from 12.00-17.00. Irish Treble will be providing the best of Irish music and dance, and will be organizing a workshop to teach everyone how to dance a jig!

To sum up the green week at the highest, Irish Treble will be performing in Sala Galileo Galilei on Saturday 17 March at 21.00. Irish dance and the best Irish music to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Buy your tickets here from 8€
